महंगे पेट्रोल-डीजल से परेशान जनता के लिए एक अच्छी खबर है. केंद्र सरकार ने उत्पाद शुल्क में बड़ी कटौती करने का फैसला किया है. वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने खुद ट्वीट करते हुए कहा है कि पेट्रोल पर एक्साइज ड्यूटी में 8 रुपये की कटौती की जाएगी और डीजल पर 8 रुपये एक्साइज ड्यूटी घटाया गया है. सरकार के इस फैसले के बाद अब पेट्रोल 9.5 रुपये सस्ता हो जाएगा. वहीं डीजल की कीमत में भी 7 रुपये की कमी आएगी. सरकार के इस फैसले से सरकारी खजाने पर करीब 1 लाख करोड़ रुपये सालाना का बोझ पड़ेगा. वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने सभी राज्य सरकारों से अपील की है कि वह भी वैट में कटौती करें और जनता को राहत दें. उन्होंने खासतौर पर उन राज्यों को दाम घटाने के लिए कहा है जिन्होंने नवंबर 2021 में वैट में कटौती नहीं की थी. इससे पहले प्रधानमंत्री भी इन राज्यों से वैट में कटौती करने की बात कह चुके हैं.
