शिव जी की पूजा में शंख का प्रयोग क्यों वर्जित है, क्योकि शंख की उत्पत्ति शंखचूड़ दैत्य से मानी जाती है. शिव जी ने उसी दैत्य शंखचूड़ का वध किया था. इसलिए शिव पूजन में शंख का प्रयोग निषिद्ध है.
