केरल यूनिवर्सिटी ने 18 साल से बड़ी छात्राओं को 6 महीने की मैटरनिटी लीव देने का फैसला किया है. केरल सरकार ने इसी साल जनवरी में उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों में मेंस्ट्रुअल यानी पीरियड लीव और मैटरनिटी लीव देने का आदेश जारी किया था. इसी आदेश के बाद केरल यूनिवर्सिटी ने छात्राओं को प्रेग्नेंसी की वजह से 6 महीने की मैटरनिटी लीव देने का सर्कुलर जारी किया है. सर्कुलर में कहा गया है कि छात्राओं को 6 महीने की मैटरनिटी लीव लेने के बाद फिर से एडमिशन कराने की जरूरत नहीं होगी. छुट्टी से वापस आने के बाद छात्राएं बिना किसी औपचारिकता के कॉलेज में अपनी पढ़ाई फिर से शुरू कर सकती हैं. यूनिवर्सिटी प्रशासन ने कहा है कि कॉलेज प्रिंसिपल छात्राओं के मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड्स की जांच कर उन्हें मैटरनिटी लीव दे सकते हैं.
