मुंबई ने ईमानदारी में दुनिया भर में नई मिसाल कायम की है. रीडर्स डाइजेस्ट ने दुनिया भर में एक सोशल एक्सपेरिमेंट किया और उसका नाम दिया द वॉलेट एक्सपेरिमेंट. इसके लिए विश्व के 16 बड़े शहरों में कुल 192 वॉलेट यानी कि बटुओं को जानबूझकर गुमा दिया. इस तरह लगभग हर शहर में 12 बटुए गुमाए गए.सभी बटुओं में नाम पता, फोन नंबर, परिवार की फोटो, कूपन और बिजनेस कार्ड के साथ 50 डॉलर यानि करीब 3600 रुपये रखे गए इंतजार किया गया कि किस शहर में कितने बटुए वापस मिले. इस सोशल एक्सपेरिमेंट में मुंबई में 12 बटुओं में से 9 बटुए वापस आए और वो दुनिया का दूसरा सबसे ईमानदार शहर बन गया. वहीं फिनलैंड के हेलिंस्की शहर में 12 में से 11 बटुए सही सलामत वापस पहुंच गए. लिहाजा वो दुनिया का सबसे ईमानदार शहर पाया गया. लिस्ट में सबसे खराब हालत रही पुर्तगाल की जहां 12 में से सिर्फ 1 ही बटुआ वापस आया.
Reader’s Digest wanted to know through a social experiment which city in the world is the most honest. What is the thinking and mentality of the people there? So a campaign named The Wallet Experiment was started. Under this campaign, 192 wallets were deliberately lost in 16 major cities of the world. 12 wallets were lost in all cities. In these wallets, money was kept at the rate of about $ 50, as well as the names of people, family information, business card, and office address in the wallet.
