टीपू सुल्तान की तलवार लंदन में नीलाम कर दी गई. इसे 1.4 करोड़ पाउंड यानी भारतीय रुपयों के हिसाब से करीब 143 करोड़ रु. में बेचा गया. इसी के साथ टीपू सुल्तान की इस तलवार नीलामी ने सभी रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिए. ये अब तक की सबसे महंगी बिकने वाली भारतीय वस्तु बन गई. बताया जाता है कि टीपू सुल्तान की ये तलवार 18वीं सदी में बनी थी और भारत छोड़कर गए अंग्रेज इसे अपने साथ ले गए थे. दावा है कि ये तलवार टीपू सुल्तान के महल के निजी कमरे से बरामद की गई थी. टीपू सुल्तान की ये तलवार स्टील की है और इस पर सोने से बेहतरीन नक्काशी की गई है.
