जेडीयू की कमान अपने हाथों में लेकर नीतीश ने ये जता दिया है कि वो ही जेडीयू के सर्वोच्च नेता है लेकिन उनके इसके रुख को लेकर उनके गठबंधन के नेता असहज हैं उन्हें आशंका है कि कहीं 2024 चुनावों से पहले नीतीश उनको छोड़ कर एनडीए के खेमे में न चल जाएं. हालांकि अभी तक इंडिया गठबंधन ने जेडीयू में नेतृत्व परिवर्तन को उनका आंतरिक मामला बताया है.
