आईएनएस विशाखापट्टनम आत्मनिर्भर भारत की मिसाल है। इस युद्धपोत पर लगे करीब 75 फीसदी उपकरण और हथियार भारत में ही बने है. इसकी सबसे बड़ी खासियत है कि दुश्मन का रडार इस युद्दपोत को पकड़ नहीं सकता. आईएनएस विशाखापट्टनम में इस्तेमाल 75 फीसदी उपकरण स्वदेशी हैं. ये सबूत है कि हिंदुस्तान अपने दम पर ताकतवर युद्धपोत तैयार कर सकता है. समंदर की सुरक्षा के लिए भारत अब तकनीक के मामले में भी आत्मनिर्भर बन चुका है. मुंबई के माजगांव डॉक में बने आईएनएस विशाखापट्टनम में अनगिनत खूबियां है. इस युद्धपोत को भविष्य के टकराव को नज़र में रखते हुए तैयार किया गया है. ये नौसेना के जंगी बेड़े में शामिल सबसे सक्षम और आधुनिक युद्धपोत है.
