AIR यानी ऑल इंडिया रेडियो सर्विस से जुड़ी एक अहम खबर है. सरकार की रेडियो सेवा सुनने वालों को अब ऑल इंडिया रेडियो शब्द सुनने को नहीं मिलेंगे, इसकी जगह अब सिर्फ आकाशवाणी शब्द सुनाई देगा. पब्लिक ब्रॉडकास्टर प्रसार भारती ने अपनी रेडियो सेवा को ‘ऑल इंडिया रेडियो’ कहना बंद करने का फैसला किया है. इसकी जगह अब ‘आकाशवाणी’ नाम का इस्तेमाल जाएगा, जैसा कि प्रसार भारती कानून में तय किया गया है. आकाशवाणी की महानिदेशक वसुधा गुप्ता ने एक आंतरिक आदेश जारी कर इस फैसले को तुरंत प्रभाव से लागू करने को कहा है. प्रसार भारती के मुताबिक, ये सरकार का बहुत पुराना फैसला है जो पहले लागू नहीं किया गया था और अब इसे लागू किया जा रहा है.

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has decided to stop calling its radio service 'All India Radio'. In its place, the name 'Akashvani' will now be used, as has been decided in the Prasar Bharati Act. All India Radio Director General Vasudha Gupta has issued an internal order asking to implement this decision with immediate effect.
