शिव नगरी काशी को 'बेगर्स फ्री' यानी 'भिखारी मुक्त' बनाने के प्रयास शुरू हो गए हैं. बेगर्स कॉरपोरेशन यानी भिखारी निगम नाम की एक कंपनी धार्मिक नगरी काशी की सड़कों, गलियों, पर्यटन और धार्मिक स्थलों पर भीख मांगने वाले हजारों लोगों को कारोबारी बनने का मौका दे रही है. संस्था बेगर्स कॉरपोरेशन के वॉलंटियर्स इस अभियान से आम लोगों को भी जोड़ने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. बेगर्स कॉरपोरेशन की घोषणा है कि जो भी लोग भीख देने की बजाय भीख मांगने वालों को संस्था तक लाएंगे उन्हें एक हजार रुपये इनाम में दिए जाएंगे.
