तमिलनाडु में थाईपुसम त्योहार शुरू हो गया है. इस उत्सव में भगवान मुरुगन की पूजा की जाती है जो शिव और पार्वती के छोटे पुत्र कार्तिकय माने जाते हैं. थाईपुसम के मौके पर कुड्डालोर में आस्थावानों की भीड़ ये बताने के लिए काफी है कि तमिल समुदाय के लिए ये त्योहार किसी मेले से कम नहीं है और उसके लिए ये त्योहार कितना मायने रखता है. ये उत्सव हर साल उत्तर भारत के सौर कैलेंडर के अनुसार मकर महीने के साथ शुरू होता है. थाईपुसम उत्सव पूर्णिमा से शुरू होकर 10 दिनों तक चलता है.
Thaipusam festival has started in Tamil Nadu. In this festival, Lord Murugan is worshiped who is considered to be Kartikya, the younger son of Shiva and Parvati. The crowd of devotees in Cuddalore on the occasion of Thaipusam is enough to show that this festival is no less than a fair for the Tamil community and how much this festival means for them. This festival starts every year with the month of Makara according to the solar calendar of North India. Thaipusam festival starts on the full moon day and continues for 10 days.
