फिलीपींस में भूकंप के तेज़ झटके महसूस किए गए. बताया गया कि इसकी तीव्रता 6.2 रही. ये भूकंप वहां की राजधानी मनीला से लगभग 140 किलोमीटर दूर आया. इस भूकंप की वजह से वहां कुछ देर के लिए अफरातफरी मच गई. हालांकि राहत की बात ये रही कि इससे कोई बड़ा नुकसान नहीं हुआ.
