चक्रवाती तूफान मिचौंग ने आज दोपहर करीब एक बजे आंध्र प्रदेश के बापटला में नेल्लोर-मछलीपट्टनम के बीच लैंडफॉल किया. तूफान के टकराने के वक्त हवाओं की रफ्तार करीब 90 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा रही. इस तूफान के असर से आंध्र प्रदेश के कई तटीय जिलों में जोरदार बारिश भी हुई. तूफान गुजरने के बाद रेस्क्यू टीमों ने युद्धस्तर पर राहत और बचाव अभियान छेड़ दिया है, ताकि जल्द से जल्द तूफान प्रभावित इलाकों में जनजीवन बहाल किया जा सके.
Cyclonic storm Michaung made landfall in Bapatla of Andhra Pradesh between Nellore-Machilipatnam at around 1 pm today.
