वायुसेना की ताकत में अब और इजाफा होने जा रहा है. देश में बने फाइटर जेट तेजस के एडवांस्ड वर्जन मार्क 1A के पहले एयरक्राफ्ट की टेस्ट फ्लाइट कामयाब रही है..LCA मार्क 1-A अपनी श्रेणी का सबसे हल्का और छोटा मल्टीपरपस सुपरसॉनिक फाइटर प्लेन है. सबसे बड़ी बात है कि इसमें इस्तेमाल किए गए 65 फीसदी से ज्यादा उपकरण देश में ही बने हैं. जल्द ही ये विमान इंडियन एयर फोर्स का हिस्सा होगा.
