सनातन धर्म में भोलेनाथ को मोक्ष के देवता के रूप जाना जाता है. भारत में भगवान शिव के हजारों छोटे-बड़े मंदिर हैं. लेकिन फिर भी भोलेनाथ के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों का महत्व सबसे ज्यादा है. हिंदू पुराणों के मुताबिक इन ज्योतिर्लिंग में भगवान शिव खुद ज्योति रूप में विराजमान हैं. कहते हैं कि जो भी भक्त दिन में कभी भी इन 12 ज्योतिर्लिंग के नाम ले लेता है तो उसके मुक्ति मोक्ष के द्वार खुल जाते हैं.
