रूस के सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने यूक्रेन के अजोव रेजीमेंट को प्रतिबंधित आतंकवादी समूह घोषित किया है. इस घोषणा के बाद रूस अब युद्धबंदी के रूप में गिरफ्तार यूक्रेन के कैदियों पर आतंकवाद का मुकदमा चला सकता है. दक्षिण यूक्रेन के मारियापोल में रूस के साथ हुई लड़ाई में अजोव रेजीमेंट ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी. रूस लगातार इस रेजीमेंट पर नाजियों की रणनीति अपनाने के आरोप लगा रहा है. रूस के महा अभियोजक कार्यालय ने अजोव को आतंकी समूह घोषित करने के लिए इस साल मई में प्रस्ताव पेश किया था. अजोव रेजीमेंट के कई लड़ाके इस समय मास्को के बंधक हैं. रूसी अधिकारियों ने उनके खिलाफ कई आपराधिक मामले दर्ज किए हैं. इसमें आम नागरिकों की हत्या के मामले शामिल हैं.
